Speedway Rider Injured
A motor-cyclist was Injured at the Aranui Speedway last evening. He is Maurice David Wilson, of 39 Keller street. Mr Wilson was taken by St. John ambulance to the Christchurch Public Hospital, and was admitted shortly before 10 p.m. Late last evening his condition was reported to be satisfactory.
Motor-Cyclist Injured
A young man was injured last evening when the motor-cycle he was riding was involved in a collision with a car at the corner of Worcester street and Fitzgerald avenue. He is Ronald Norman Boydell, of 29 Warwick street. Mr Boydell suffered head injuries, and was taken by St. John ambulance to the Christchurch Public Hospital, where he was admitted at 11.12 p.m. Late last night his condition was reported to be satisfactory.
Greetings From Royal Yacht.— Among the Christmas greeting cards received by the Mayor of Lyttelton (Mr F. G Briggs) and Mrs Briggs was one from the Royal yacht Britannia. It conveyed the good wishes of ViceAdmiral Sir Conolly Abel Smith, commander of the Britannia, and of his officers. The yacht was at Lyttelton on December 16 and 17. 1956, on the occasion of the visit of the Duke of Edinburgh.
