MAN FOUND UNCONSCIOUS

A man found in the early hours of yesterday morning lying unconscious in the middle of the road in Leitch street, Spreydon, was last evening in the Christchurch Hospital seriously ill. He is Charles William SaintMerat, a brewer, aged about 50, of 34 Windsor street. Mr Saint-Merat was discovered lying beside a bicycle about 2.15 a.m. He was taken to hospital by ambulance and admitted with severe head injuries.
