Bracket Favoured For Main Event At Oamaru

DUNEDIN, January 1. The stablemates, Motueka and Tamarisk, form a strong bracket for the President’s Handicap, the main race and first leg of the double at the Oamaru Jockey Club’s meeting tomorrow. They were first and third respectively in the Waikouaiti Cup today. Motueka has been rehandicapped 61b to 9-0, but in his present form that weight should not stop him from running well. The second leg is the Flying Handicap Purser has been rehandicapped 81b to 7-12. He won comfortably at Waikouaiti today and will be in high favour foi the six-furlong race at Oamaru. Scratchings are:— Trial Stakes: Compensate, Robes, Rushbrook, Timely Boy, Neptral, Sailor’s Hornpipe.
