BRIDGE DAMAGED BY FLOOD WATERS.—The bridge over the Hooker river, on the Ball Hut road, after being damaged bv flood waters which washed out about 10 miles of the main highway between Lake Pukaki and Mount Cook. The approaches to eight bridges on this highway were washed out. The same span on this bridge was washed away and replaced in 1943.
