Drinking Water Test
As flood waters recede, officers of the Department of Health are testing supplies of drinking water obtained from wells. ♦ The District Medical Officer of Health (Dr. A. Douglas) said yesterday that he would make a tour of inspection of all areas which had been under water. Accompanying him would be health authorities from the Rangiora Borough and Waimairi county councils
“As far as we know,” he said, “public sources of supply are intact and are not contaminated.” In the meantime, residents should boil all water from private supplies before use, Dr. Douglas said.
