NEW PRESIDENT INAUGURATED
(Rec. 9.30 p.m.) MANILA, December 30. President Carlos Garcia was inaugurated for a four-years term as President of the Philippines today. He promised to enhance the Philippines’ historic friendship with the American people. He said he wished to reiterate to “our Asian friends . . . the good neighbour policy which we wish would prove mutually fruitful and beneficial.” His nation would preserve its friendship with Spain and the Latin American republics “with whom we are tied by indissoluble cultural, spiritual and historical bonds.”
