BAY OF PLENTY MEETING
Dalrob Likelv To Be Favourite
"The Press' Special service AUCKLAND, December 29. On the strength of a good middledistance win at Rotorua last Friday, the Ellerslie gelding, Dalrob, will very likely be the favourite for the Bay of Plenty Handicap, at the Bay of Plenty Racing Club’s meeting at Tauranga, tomorrow. Sir Goodwin. Kokiri, Helenita and Free Ticket are other prominent cand'dates. The Bay of Plenty Handicap will be the first leg of the double, run over one mile and a quarter and 110 yards, for £825. Dhlrob has 7-13 which is 71b more than he carried successfully over a mile and five furlongs and 55 yards, at Rotorua The second leg will be the Stewards’ Handicap, about six furlongs The Pukekohe three-year-old colt, Supertax, was an unlucky second at Rotorua, over six furlongs last week, and he may be more fortunate on this occasion. The hardest for him to beat may be Sir Valley Rangi papa and Taboo. After a period of fine weather, the going was fast today. It seems likely that the favourable conditions wil) continue.
