THREE PLAYERS INJURED
Three players suffered injuries during yesterday’s play in the Plunket Shield match between Auckland and Canterbury. A. R. Mac Gibbon, of Canterbury, had his right thumb broken in three places when he tried to field a ball, and he is unlikely to play again for three or four weeks. f < ,
The South Canterbury slow bowler. M. Jack, had to leave the field with a recurrence of a back injury suffered in a motor accident sqme months ago, and he may not play again this season. The third casualty was the Auckland captain, D. Taylor, who pulled a leg muscle near the end of the day. He had treatment last evening and hopes to be able to play when Auckland meets Otago at Dunedin on Monday.
