PLANE WRECKAGE FOUND
Discovery In Bay Near Wellington (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. December 1. Wreckage, identified as that of a Tiger Moth aircraft, was discovered late yesterday in Ohau Bay, south of Makara, Wellington. This virtually confirms the fate of the Tiger Moth which has been missing since Thursday afternoon on a flight between New Plymouth and Blenheim. No trace has yet been found of the occupants, Mr S. R. G. Bethune, aged 26. the pilot, and his father. Mr J. E. Bethune, both of Pukeatea, Waikato. The wreckage was found by scrubcutters. It consists of a wing strut, with snapped off air speed indicator tubes, a leather flying glove, pieces of maps, and shattered fragments of fuselage.
