Appeal Dates Announced
Appeals by C. C. Devine and J. D. Litten against the suspension of their driving licences on the final day of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club’s cup meeting at Addington on November 23 will be held in Christchurch at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 12. Devine and Litten had their driving licences suspended after an inquiry into an incident in which the drivers slashed at each other with their whips in the New Zealand Flying Stakes. The appeal by Mr J. .1. Rooney, owner of Recruit, against the relegation of his horse from first to third in the Dominion Handicap on the second day of the cup meeting on November 14, was to have been held in Christchurch tomorrow. The date of this hearing has been advanced one week aitd will now be held on Wednesday, December 11. The dates for these appeals were announced yesterdav by the secretary of the New Zealand Trotting Conference (Mr W. H. Larcombe).
