The monthly social of the women's section of the Christchurch R.S.A. was held recently when Mrs H. A. Bishop presided. A programme was arranged by Mrs R. S. Storie and Miss E. Neville. The artists taking part were Miss R. Griffiths (violin solo), Mrs G. Harrall ‘vocal solo). Miss Neville (elocutionary items), Miss P. Hill (vocal solo). Mrs Storie (piano solo), Mrs Harrall and Mrs Hill (vocal duets).
Gifts for patients at the Cashmere Sanatorium during October were received as follows: sweets and fruit from the British Sailor’s Society; tobacco, sweets and fruit from the N.Z. Patriotic Fund Board; magazines and sweets from the Tuberculosis Association; books and magazines from Miss B. Ladd, anonymous donors, the Catholic Women’s League, 4096 and the Dawson Printing Co.. Ltd.
Mrs O. M. Miller addressed the November meeting of the Home Economics Association's Garden Circle and judged the competition exhibits. Mrs G. J. H. Gartpn presided.
