British Pensions Increased
(Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 14. The House of Commons yesterday approved the Government’s scheme to raise retirement and war pensions, unemployment and sick pay by a total of nearly £2oom a year.
Single persons who retire (men at 65, women and 60) will have their State pension raised from 40s to 50s a week. Married couples will get 80s instead of 655.
