Problem of Peace
Sir,—The excellent letter of “T Shaw” suggests that if the world’s workers linked up internationally with the primary aim of stopping war by declaring a world strike the war problem wduld be solved This seems a far more effective method than waiting till imperial Powers like France and Britain were willing to disarm when both need armaments to keep then empires. But time presses. Th< bombs get bigger and bigger; the contamination of the germ cells deeper and deeper. W’hy not ad now in accordance with the urge.of common sense, respect for lift and social equality? First, pro claim a stale of emergency ir. New Zealand; second, declare al private property common or public property; third, give all adult citizens an equal annual credit in the State bank; fourth, prepare ourselves to meet any military invasion by non-violent non-co-operative methods that reflect world social equality and human brotherhood.—Yours, etc., N.
