Infected Timbers At University

The growth of dry rot in the east block of buildings at the University of Canterbury had almost stopped, the Vice-Chancel-lor (Dr. F. J. Llewellyn) told the council of the university yesterday.

A plan to replace infected timbers would be put into effect in November and work should be finished during the university vacation, he said. The Government had made a grant of £lO,OOO to do the work. It was not necessary, as previously thought, to treat the masonry in the block.
