JUGOSLAVIA AND GREECE

Top-Level Conference In Athens (2V.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 8 p.m.) ATHENS, October 20. The Middle East crisis and Balkan problems will dominate the Greek-Jugoslav talks which will open in Athens this week after the arrival tomorrow of Mr Edvard Kardelj, the Jugoslav Vice-Premier.

Mr Kardelj will spend four days in Greece at the invitation of the Greek Prime Minister, Mr Constantine Karamanlis. He returns the visit made to President Tito by the Greek Prime Minister last May. Top-level talks will start tomorrow evening and continue at the Greek Foreign Ministry on Tuesday. No agenda has been drafted. A spokesman of the Greek Foreign Ministry said, however, that the talks which Mr Karamanlis is expected to attend with the Greek Foreign Minister, Mr E. Averoff, will cover the following topics: (1) The international situation and developments directly interesting the two countries—mainly Middle East events. (2) The recent Rumanian proposals for a conference of Prime Ministers of the six Balkan countries—Jugoslavia. Rumania, Bulgaria, Albania, Turkey and Greece. (3) Problems directly concerned with the improvement of Greek-Jugoslav relations in the defence, political, commercial and cultural fields.
