Immediate Rise Of 25s Sought (Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) LONDON. October 20. The decision of the Transport and General Workers’ Union to make a claim "immediately” for 25s more a week on behalf of London’s 50.000 busmen is taken as the first signs of a coming showdown between the transport unions and the Government. It is expected to be followed by claims from other sections of bus workers. i The new claim would cost j £4.000.000 a year, and most likely. lif granted, would mean another (increase in fares.
