The conference will open with' a service of intercession at Knox! Church this afternoon, and delegates will attend the official open-: ing of the assembly and the in-j ctallation of the new Moderator at ■ St. Paul’s Church this evening. ; After a Communion service at St. Paul’s Church tomorrow morn-1 ing the union’s conference will be; officially opened at Knox Church, j An executive reception, at which i the Mayoress of Christchurch (Mrs 1 R. A full business agenda is set down for Wednesday, Thursday. Friday, Saturday and Monday when the conference will be closed Sunday’s programme includes church services for delegates ir the morning and afternoon, a Bus' Bee Rally at Knox Church and ar auxiliary tea at Knox Hall in the afternoon. Delegates will also take part in people’s night at the Civic Theatre on Monday evening at the conclusion of the conference and the assembly. Hospitality has been arranged for visitors by Christchurch members of the union, who are hostesses for the conference.

The annual report of the union shows a membership of 13.109 throughout New Zealand, not including members of eight branches formed since the end of June. Altogether 17 branches have been formed since the last conference of the union, making 529 branches in the Dominion.
