Queen Chews Gum On Flight

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) ‘Rec. 11 p.m.) WASHINGTON. October 20. The Queen was chewing gum when she in Washington this afternoon from her visit to Mrs Paul Mellon's horse training centre at Middleburg. Virginia, the American Associated Press reported. The agency said the Queen, looking sporty in an olive green suit with, hat to match, stepped off the plane chewing gum. She came down the short flight of steps to an official welcome back from Mr Victor R. Purse, the deputy protocol chief. “We meet again,” she said gaily. Her eyebrows shot up in surprise at seeing Mr Purse, for he had been with her at Middleburg. Mr Purse had rushed back before Her Majesty in a small two-engined plane.
