There are .no wage increases for adult men, but senior women who have served for four years or more have been given an increase of $d an hour. The same increase in the hourly rate has also been awarded to male workers aged between 18 and 21. A new provision is that after 10 years’ continuous employment with one employer, instead of an extra week’s holiday, male workers shall be granted a service allowance of Is a day and female workers 6d a day.

The award applies to the manufacture of all woven, felted (other than needle felt), and machine-knitted fabrics and hoisery produced from wool, silk, nylon, rayon or other man-made fibres, cotton, or mixtures of these, and jute or hemp (other than rope).
