PLUNKET SOCIETY Christchurch Branch Meeting
The monthly meeting of the Christchurch branch of the Plunket Society was held recently when the president (Mrs Arthur Rose) presided. Mrs C. Martin was elected as a member to the central committee of the Christchurch branch The committee expressed its appreciation to the Junior Chamber of Commerce for its generosity in giving the proceeds of the lime sales to the Plunket Society The amount was £369. It was reported that Lady Cooham had accepted an invitation to visit Karitane Hospital on November 13 The charge sister reported for the month: number of new babv cases. 318; number of visits to babies in homes. 2176: number of visits of babies to rooms,. 2940. The matron of Karitane Hospital reported for the month: number of mothers admitted. 19. and habies. 31; number of mothers discharged, 15. and babies. 25: number of premature babies admitted. 4. and discharged 3 The following branches and subbranches were thanked for their gifts: Waikari £lO.
