WOMEN'S GAMES
Bucketts Beat Waratahs Bucketts beat Waratahs easily, by 24 runs to 10, when the Canterbury Women’s Softball Association’s competitions were continued on Saturday.
The outstanding player ot the Bucketts side was W. Dodd who, by accurate pitching, kept Waratahs score down to 2 runs at the fifth innings. Also, she showed good form in batting to hit three home runs Waratahs settled down and showed better batting and base-running in the sixth innings to score eight runs, but were unable to overtake Bucketts lead. Results:—
Senior.—West A 14, West B 2; Vanguards 26, Teachers College C 16; Teachers’ College A 29. Teachers’ College B 11; Bucketts 34. Waratahs 10 Junior.—Papanui High A 7. Linwcod Tigers 2; Papanui High B 28. West 11; Avonside 23, Linwood Demons 7.
