Thomson And Thomas In Auckland
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, October 1. Two professional golfers, Peter Thomson (Australia) and David Thomas (Wales) arrived in Auckland last night. As usual, Thomson’s visit will be a whirlwind one of tournaments and exhibitions.
Tomorrow and Thursday the pair will give exhibitions in Gisnorne and Napier. They will then go to Paraparaumu for the sponsored tournament next week-end, and to Palmerston North, where Thomson will attempt to win his fifth New Zealand open championship. Immediately after the open championship, Thomson will fly to Sydney, but Thomas will play in the New Zealand match play championship before joining Thomson again to travel to Tokyo for the international Canada Cup tournament.
