New Swimming Pool In Dunedin

(New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, October 1. If the Dunedin City Council agrees to a recommendation from its general committee, the ActingCity Engineer (Mr R. J. Howorth) will be instructed to make provision in the plans for Dunedin’s new covered swimming pool for a 55yd by 58ft main pool without a deep diving well, a small learners’ pool 2ft 6in deep for teaching, a meeting room which could also be used as a cafeteria, a diving pool suitable for five-metre boards, and accommodation for 1200 to 1500 spectators. This was said today by the chairman of the general committee (Cr. N. D. Anderson).
