TABLOID SPORTS
1000 Take Part At Elmwood
The second of the annua] series of tabloid sports held by the four schools which contribute to the Heaton Intermediate school was held yesterday. The four schools, Elmwood, Wairakei, Waimairi and St. Albans, act as host for the sports in turn, as Elmwood was the host school yesterday. This series of sports was begun last year as a result of the Education Board's policy of letting as many children as possible compete. For this reason, the interprimary school sports have been split up. With the larger number of sports meetings, each embracing a few schools, it is possible for every child to take part in the active competition. Tabloid games and Athletic sports were features at Elmwood yesterday, and about 1060 took part in the events. There was a good attendance of parents and friends.
