New Pin-Ups For Weedons Tents
The pin-ups are back on the walls of the tents at Weedons where the men of the United States Air Force will live again this summer. But they are new pin-ups. This year’s squadron is the 53rd.
Tonight, when the advance party now in Christchurch move in, T-bone steaks will be simmering in the cook house, the low oil-burning stoves under the roofs of the dark green tents will be glowing and the sheets will be’ turned back for the men who will service and fly the Globemasters from Christchurch airport to the Antarctic. Until now they have been ing in the barracks at the Royal New Zealand Air Force station, Wigram. The main body will be reaching Christchurch later this month, from the arrival of the first Globemaster next week.
