HOME TEAM WINS AT TIMARU
(New Zeaiana Press Association) TIMARU, September 1. South Canterbury beat Mid-Can-terbury 12-9 in a representative Rugby match at Timaru yesterday. All points resulted from penalties or dropped goals. For South Canterbury, the fullback, M. D. Watson, who played an outstanding game, kicked two penalties and one field goal. G. Taylor also kicked a penalty. Mid-Canterbury’s points came from two penalties and a dropped goal by the full-back, T. Gallagher. It was a disappointing match, with neither backline impressive as an attacking unit.
