Boy Missing In Bush
(New Zealand Press Association) OPOTIKI, September 1.
A boy, aged nine years, is lost in rough scrub and bush country at Oponae in the Waioeka Gorge. He is Peter William Boland, a son of Mr and Mrs Neville Boland, of Avondale, Auckland. The boy was spending, the school holidays on the farm of Messrs Innes-Smith -and Wood. He was about a mile and a half from the homestead at 11 a.m. yesterday when he was missed. / search was begun within 12 minutes and the police were called. By nightfall, the boy was still missing. There was heavy rain last night. A party of 27 organised by the police continued the search today without success. The search will continue tomorrow.
