CURRENT NOTES
Mr D. J. Hewitt presided at the monthly meeting of the Christchurch Cultural Society recently. Musical items were given by Miss Evelyn Tregurtha (three pianoforte etudes from Chopin); Mrs Kyra Greenslade (vocal solos, from Handel and Wolf). Mrs W. E. Olds was the accompanist. After the items Mr N. F. Greenslade gave a talk on ‘‘American Scenes,” which was illustrated by coloured slides. Mr P. A. Le Brun moved a vote of thanks to the speaker and the artists. Miss G. Ellen and Mt Hewitt received the guests.
Miss N. Taylor gave a demonstration on making foam plastic articles at the monthly meeting of the Sydenham branch of the League of Mothers. Mrs S. P. Smith presided.
