South Island Maori Team Selected
(New Zealand Press Assoctationi DUNEDIN, September 1. The South Island Maori women’s basketball team to play the North Island at Temuka on October 5 was chosen by the Otago selectors (Miss J. Cloughley and Mrs L. McTaggart) at Portobello yesterday. The team is:— Defence: J. Kariatiana (Maori Community Centre, Christchurch), R. Williams (Maori Youth Centre, Christchurch), M. Duffy (Waihou, Morven). Centre: A. Hunt, B. Heath (Maori Community Centre), M. Waaka (Otakou). Emergency: P. Kamo (Maori Youth Centre). Forwards: V. Lucas (Maori Community Centre), M. Philips (Otautahi, Christchurch), M. Manaiutu (Maori Youth Centre).
