New Zealand was always superior m a hard and interesting match played under perfect conditions. The New Zealanders* positional play was better than their opponents ; the right wing, Crossen, and left wing, Read, were outstanding. They made openings for Hughes to score in the first half, and Maunsell near „ the cloS3 of the second half. Cullen, centre half. With Compton and Patel, made a strong middle line while Pragnell and Smith were solid backs providing excellent cover lor the goalie New Zealand was hard pressed after the interval, the Australian forwards endeavouring to score with long passing. They were repeatedly pulled up by Prangnell. The New Zealand team beat all Australian States. but lost twe matches early in the t :ur to Goulbum and Crook well. It held the Sydney Senior Cup t”am to a draw. 2-2. The New Zealanders will fly home on Monday.
