Ski-ing Cragieburn Valley Titles
J. Defferand won the men’s title at the championships of the Craigieburn Valley Ski Club and Miss P Had won the women’s title. The downhill was run over a controlled vertical descent of 1000 feet, and the slalom through 30 s?ts of pates Both courses were set by J. Chatetain. Results were:— Men’s Downhill.—J. Defferand 1. R. Copp 2, K. Scott 3. Women’s Downhill.—Miss P. Hall 1, Miss H. Wills 2, Miss H. Carter 3. Men’s Slalom.—J. Godfrey 1. A. Foote 2, D. Young 3. Women’s Slalom. —Miss Hall 1, Miss Wil’s 2. Miss Carter 3. Men’s Combined Championships.— J. Deflerand 1, K Scott 2. R. Copp 3. Women’s Combined Championship. —Miss Hall 1, Miss Wills 2, Miss Carter 3. T.A.B. Statistics Doubles betting accounted for 47.64 per cent, of the transactions handled by the Totalisator Agency Board and win and place betting 52.36 per cent., says the annual report of the Department of Internal Affairs. The report noted that 57.22 per cent, of the investments were made on the Friday and approximately 90 per cent, before the start of the first race, the incidence being; Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., 28.81 per cent.; Friday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., 28.41 per cent.;
Saturday, 8.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m., 36.92 per cent.; Saturday, 11.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m., 5.86 per cent.
