MEN’S INDOOR BASKETBALL
Canterbury To Play Ranking Match (From Our Own Reporter) HAMILTON. September 1. By a decision of the New Zealand Basketball Council. Canterbury has tc play Rotorua for the right to enter the first division of the New Zealand men's basketball championships which opens at Hamilton tomorrow. This has become necessary since the council considered Canterbury’s team has been very much weakened due to the absence of L. Hack, K. Ewing and R. Salt. The grading match with Rotorua will be played at 10.15 a.m. tomorrow. Otago has been promoted to take the place originally allocated to Canterbury, and Hutt Valley, originallj- scheduled to play a grading match with Otago, has been relegated to second division.
Canterbury has been allocated the national championship tournament for 1958.
