Aircraft Order From India
LONDON, August 31. India today placed an ordey for “a substantial number” of single and two-seater Hunter jet fighters, according to the Hawker Aircraft Company. Asked about the extent of the order, a Hawker spokesman that this would be normally in the neighbourhood of between 100 and 200 aircraft and worth between £2om and £3om. Hunters are now •in service with the air forces of Britain, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, Peru, and Iraq. Exports of these aircraft have earned Britain to date about £l26m.
