Mrs Roosevelt To Visit Russia
(Rec. 8 p.m.) NEW, YORK, Aug. 31. Mrs Eleanor Roosevelt was on her way to the Soviet Union today, “to learn all I can about Russia and conditions there.” The widow of the former President, who is 73 years old, left New York yesterday afternoon. She said she was travelling as a journalist. On her departure she said she did not know whether she would confer, with top Soviet officials during her 25-day tour, which will take her to Leningrad, Moscow and other major cities.
