“Party Clash Last June” - (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) > (Rec. 11 p.m.) WARSAW, Sept. 1. - - f° rmer Russian Foreign Minister, Mr Molotov, whose appointment as Soviet Ambassador to Mongolia was announced by Moscow this week, was reported yesterday to have suffered defeat on a crucial issue of policy last June. According to a leading article in the Polish trade union newspaper “Glos Pracy” Mr Molotov argued That an armed clash between socialism and capitalism was inevitable. That the slogan on the possibility of avoiding war was exclusively of a tactical nature. That the intervening years constituted only a momentary armistice or breathing period. On this thesis, the newspaper said, Mr Molotov was defeated in favour of a “genuine co-existence policy as advocated by Mr Khrushchev.
