CYCLIST KILLED
Collision With Car At Intersection A man died in the Christchurch Public Hospital last evening shortly /after he had suffered severe head injuries when his bicycle and a car collided at the intersection of Matipo street and Blenheim road about 9.20 p.m. He was: | Thomas Steven Brown, aged 53, married, of 230 Ham road. The driver of the car Mr Alan Douglas Hastie, of 166 Waltham road. Mr Brown was taken to hospital by St. John ambulance, but died* an hour after being admitted. The car, a small post-war English model, was extensively damaged in the collision.
The car had to be towed to the Cerftral Police Station after the accident, where it was left near damaged vehicles which were involved in a fatal accident in the city on Saturday afternoon. Mr Hastie was later examined at the hospital. He had minor facial atfrasions but was not admitted.
