Rifle Shooting “IMPERIAL BLUE” AWARDED
N.Z. Man’s Performance In Varsities Match (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 1. An Aucklander, I. R. Larsen, has been awarded an “Imperial blue” in rifle shooting for his performance as a member of a New Zealand Universities’ team in the Imperial universities’ rifle match last year. Advice of the award was received from Australia recently. Larsen was top-scorer in the match, a postal event which was won 'by the Queensland University team. The t only time a New. Zealand team has won this event was when Victoria . University College Was successful in 1925. The match is an annual eight-man
team fixture open to universities and university colleges throughout the Empire. The match headquarters are in Sydney. New Zealand rifle teams seldom perform in these overseas university postal matches, and Larsen’s “Imperial blue” is believed to be the first gained by a Naw Zaalaqder tor
