Darfield And Return Race ,
The Christchurch amateur cycling clubs combined in a 50-mile out and home handicap race to Darfield and return. T. Cameron (Christchurch), who was second last week in the Canterbury 100-mile championship, won the race, but he was fully extended by B. A’Court (Christchurch), who finished a length behind Cameron. On the outward run, the riders had a following wind, and before the turn the scratch men -had passed the break riders. • On the return journey, the scratch men forged through the field, and nearmg the finish the scratch men were up with the leaders. Cameron also gained fastest time. Abbreviations used in the results are:—Christchurch (C.), Papanui (P.). Avon (A.). The results were:—T. Cameron (C.) (scr). 2hr (frnin 36sec, 1; B. A’Court ’(C.)
