WOUNDING OF WIFE
Man Gaoled For Four Years
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 21.
Te Tao Mack Hau, aged 38, a labourer, was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment by Mr Justice North in the Supreme Court today for wounding his wife, Evah, with intend to do grievous bodily harm. Last week, a jury acquitted Hau of the major charge of attempting to murder his wife, but found him guilty on the lesser charge. The charges were the sequel to a shooting incident in the grounds of the Kawakawa Hospital, last April.
