Boxing TOURNAMENT AT NELSON CREEK
Christchurch Boxers Compete (From Our Own Re-porter) GREYMOUTH. August 4. The Nelson Creek Boxing Club held its second tournament of the year on Saturday with an excellent programme. The amateurs competing came from Christchurch. Westport. Greymouth. Reefton and Ngahere and set a very high standard. Two of them, G. Finlay (Greymouth i and R Morrison (Westport) ace the holders of New Zealand titlesThe feature bout was that between Finley and R. Fleetwood (Westport) For the four two-minute rounds Finlay was the cleaner, cleverer and more effective puncher, in spite of giving away a lot in height, reach and weight to a rugsed opponent. The judges’ decision was unanimous in Finlay’s favour
The tournament was well organised and conducted. Messrs N. Kelly and M. Tuck were referees and. with Messrs J. Weinberg and L. McKane, they also acted as judges.

BelT (Greymouth) beat K. Newsome (Christchurch) R. Morrison (Westport) beat J. Logan (Greymouth). R. Williams (Christchurch) beat L. Bell (Greymouth), G. Finley (Greymouth) beat R. fleet wood (West port).
