ESCAPES FROM CUSTODY
Prison Sentence Imposed
(New Zeaiana Press Association) INVERCARGILL. July 4. Two prisoners who escaped from the cell block at the Invercargill Police Station yesterday while on remand for sentence today were sent to gaol for seven months when they appeared before Mr G A. Nicholls. S.M.. in the Magistrate’s Court today.
They were Barry Lindsay Scott
aged 21, and Brian Curtis Patrick Quealy, aged 20. both of Auck land, who were remanded for sentence on Tuesday on a charge of breaking .nd entering the Min istry of Works premises in Victoria avenue on Saturday night with intent to commit a crime
This morning, they were also charged with escaping from custody.
Both pleaded guilty. On the first charge they were sentenceo to six months' gaol and for escap■ng to one month, the sentences to he cumulative.
