SQUASH RACKETS Fixtures Approved

(New Zealana Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, May 22. The New Zealand Squash Rackets Association’s management committee has approved the following fixtures: North Island championships, on August 3 week-end, at Auckland; South Island championships. August 10, at Tima ru; Cousins Shield, North Island section, July 13 week-end, at Napier; South Island section, July 20, at Invercargill; Canterbury championships, July 27 or August 3, at Christchurch; New Zealand championships, August 31 week-end, at Palmerston North. The meeting also decided to conduct a women’s competition on the lines of the Cousins Shield competition. Each team will consist of three players. The draw for the Cousins Shield is as follows: North Island.—Remuera v. Palmerston North, Hamilton v. Hawke’s Bay. South Island.—lnvercargill v. Timaru; Oamaru v. Dunedin. The women’s draw is:—Hamilton v. Palmerston North; and Remuera v. Hawke’s Bay. The winner of the North Island section will play Oamaru in the Anal.
