EARLY SETTLERS’ ASSOCIATION

S’ A brief description of Lyttelton y and the plains as they were when r - the pilgrims arrived was given by the president of the association (Mr J. L Hewland). , ~. , A committee has been established of members of the association whc have recently graduated frorr junior members to full members of the association. This committee of members, whose ages arc from about 18 to 25, has been sei !“ up to maintain and extend the j interest of such members in the !< I work and aims of the association and to assist the executive com 2 mittee in any special projects th< ■v association may undertake. y Members of the committee are o chairman, Mr G. Treleaven; sec retary, Mr P. Scales; treasurer i- Miss E. Allan; committee, Misse ie B. Cleland, S. Edwards, R. Hew v land, and Messrs M. Lane and J H Watson. Id The committee has arranged n- programme of functions for th year.
