' Promising Start' To Trade

"Our sales of meat to Japan this season are a very promising start to the development of a market in the Far East for New Zealand,” said the general manager of the Meat Board (Mr J. W. de Gruchy) yesterday, commenting on the diversion of the Timaru Star to take a cargo of frozen beef to Japan. Mr de Gruchy said he was confident that once New Zealand gained entry to the Japanese market she would be able to hold her own there with other meatexporting countries.
