225Gns For Brood Mare
Little interest was shown in any of the lots offered at the annual sale of trotting brood mares, two and three-year-olds and racing stock held at the Show Grounds on TTiursday. Top price of 225gns was realised by the brood mare. American Brigade (Light Brigade—Seclusion), which was in foal to Johnny Globe. She was offered on behalf of Mr J. Lancaster, Springston, and was bought by H. Matson and Company, as agents for a South Australian buyer.
Two other lots, both sold on behalf of Mr A. Woods, of Pleasant Point, realised more than lOOgns. Mr C. C. Scott, of Gore, paid 160gns for Daisy Grattan, a five-year-old mare by Josedale Grattan from Daisy Gold, and Mr C. C. Devine, of Templeton, paid HOgns for Daisy d’Oro. a three-year-old filly by Medoro from Daisy Bar.
