Smallpox in Ceylon.— A. large area of north Colombo was declared “diseased” today after the detection of three positive cases of smallpox and the death of a baby from the disease. The Mayor of Colombo, Mr V. A. Sugathadasa, said the situation was well in hand and that 108 contacts had beeen rounded up and segregated. —Colombo, April 16.
