Attempted Attack On

Dr. Azikiwe Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) LAGOS (Nigeria), April 16. The Eastern Nigerian Premier (Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe) escaped unharmed when a man armed with a dagger broke through a cordon outside Government House today and attempted to attack him. The Premier was arriving for talks with the Premiers of the other regions of Nigeria.

The man ran from behind a line of policemen and threw a stone at the Premier’s car as it approached Government House. Then the man ran towards the car brandishing a dagger, before police seized him.
