SERVICE CHIEFS’ VISIT
Trip To Attend Tournament
Chiefs of staff of the three armed services will be in Christchurch bn Thursday to watch events in the annual inter-services tournament. They will fly from Wellington to the Royal New Zealand Air Force station, Wigram. The Air Member for Personnel (Air Commodore R. W. K. Stevens) and. the Member for Supply (Air Commodore I. G. Morrison) are expected to arrive today. With them will be the Army’s Adjutant-General (Brigadier L. W. Thornton). The Chief of the Air Staff (Air Vice Marshall C. E. Kay), the Chief of Naval Staff (RearAdmiral J. E. H. Mcßeath) and the Chief of the General Staff (Major-General C. E. Weir) will fly to Christchurch tomorrow morning. Another high-ranking officer who will be in ’ Christchurch this week is Brigadier T. F. Cape, commandant of the Australian Staff College, Queenscliffe, Victoria. Brigadier Cape has been on holiday in New Zealand. He will return to Australia on Thursday afternoon. The inter-services sports fixtures for Thursday are the ArmyNavy cricket game at the Hagley Oval and athletics at Rugby Park.
