SERVICE CHIEFS’ REPORT

Allocation Of N.Z. Forces (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 22. The Chiefs of Staff were preparing «a paper on the aUocation of New Zealand Forces in various theatres, said the Prime Minister (Mr Holland) this evening, commenting on a statement made in Auckland today by the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations, Lord Home, about more New Zealand troops for Malaya. Lord Home had discussed the subject with him, said Mr Holland. “Our military advisers are engaged in preparing a paper on the allocation of forces in the various theatres. That report will be considered by Cabinet as soon as it has been prepared.” Any change in New Zealand’s present commitments would be part of our long-term planning, said Mr HoHand.
