PARADE OF HOMES
Too Many Visitors
Too Soon
The Parade, of Homes- is becoming too popular—too soon. The committee is becoming concerned at the number of visitors to the site each week-end as the houses near completion. Last week-end there was a considerable number of persons milling around the houses, motor-cars cluttered up the streets, and- the visitors walked across the newlysown lawns and knocked out pegs. Mr R. H. Clark, convener of the publicity committee, said yesterday: “The committee views this ‘anticipation of the event’ with some concern, and although it is glad to know of the increasing public interest in the project it wishes to emphasise that much work has yet to be done. “Although we cannot the public out, we would like to discourage them over next weekend at a time when a great deal of work remains to be done and none of the houses will be open for inspection.” However, the committee would like to see as many persons as possible Asit the parade during the week it is open. Opening day —and the first day on which the houses will be open for inspection—is Saturday, March 30.
